Description
SikaLastomer-511 Non-skinning butyl sealant for standing seam roofs SikaLastomer-511 is a non-skinning and non-corrosive butyl rubber-based sealant. It remains malleable so that the sealant can be factory dispensed and then joined in the field, depending upon the temperatures at which the panels are stored. Metal panels can be easily separated after extended periods for repair and maintenance . Very good adhesion to common standing seam substrates Good pumpability and gunnability Panels can be bonded in the field up to6months after initial application Contains additive to inhibit a broad spectrum of microbial activity Usage SikaLastomer-511 is designed for factory sealing the female lip of standing seam roof and wall panels as well as concealed end laps. SikaLastomer-511 will adhere to the mating surface and flow into the panel joint when assembly is constructed within a temperature range of -25C to 60C (-13Fto 140F). This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Tests under actual processing conditions and with additional materials such as fibers and release agents must be performed to proof material compatibility. Application SikaLastomer-511 must wet the entire bonding surface, without interruptions.SikaLastomer-511 can be processed with manual, pneumatic or electric driven piston guns as well as with adequate processing equipment. In case of pump equipment, it must be applied at application temperature between 5C and 40C (41Fand 104F).For advice on selecting and setting up a suitable pump system, contact the System Engineering Department of Sika Industry. Removal SikaLastomer-511 can be removed from tools and equipment with Sika Remover-208 or another suitable solvent.Do not use solvents on skin. STORAGE CONDITIONS SikaLastomer-511 has to be stored below 25C(77F) in a dry place. If the product is stored below 10C (50F), it is required to pre-condition the product to at least 15C (59F) prior to loading under the pump. This can be accomplished by storing the product for 48hours at the assembly line prior to use. If the storage temperature is below 0C (32F), the time to re-condition the product is substantially longer. For transportation purposes, the storage temperature can be exceeded (up to 50C / 122F) for a period of two weeks maximum.Note: Storage outside of standard conditions can affect the shelf life.
